I think we can all agree, photography or no, this is one beautiful Momma right here. When your dearest friend is expecting her first TWO children - yep, twins! - and asks you to take maternity photos, you don't say yes you say when.
Portrait photography is not really my wheel house, I like food, it doesn't move...most of the time. But for my college roommate, I gave it a go. Here are some of my favorite shots from our quick mini session!
Warren Conference Center
Located in Ashland, Ma the Warren Conference Center and Inn offers 100 acres of beautiful New England scenery available for conference, weddings and other large functions. At the turn of the 1900s the Warren Center served first as a farm. With a New England setting in mind, the rustic farm walls, barn and other antique scenery was the perfect pairing for an after work, mid dusk shoot.
Settings + Post Processing
Most of the shots were done in manual mode with f/2.8. Towards the end of the shoot, finally finding my tinted lens filter resulted in a really warm photo that I loved (above.) The first photo in this post, along with the one below, are by far my favorite. The bokeh effect on the barn coupled with vibrancy and saturation adjustment in lightrooom making the grass really pop, but it's the glow of the setting sun and the scrape of the light that really makes me love it.
In edition to the regular settings in Lightroom, some of the filters were applied as well.
Just a few more...
Thank you, Lindsey, for this fun and beautiful New England session! You're gorgeous Momma! We can't wait to meet you and Dre's two beautiful nuggets! ❤️

These photos look beautiful Lauren! You wouldn't be able to tell that you normally don't do shoots like this for a living, it looks so incredible! I'm sure your friend was in love with all the photos 😀 I'm also really liking that filter you applied, makes me want to try playing around a bit with filters too - thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you so much! I love the filters in Lightroom. There's a lot to choose from and they're not quite as extreme as Instagram or an app.
