Pancakes

Fluffy small-batch buttermilk pancakes, naturally dyed using beetroot powder. These heart shaped pancakes are the perfect breakfast! - for Valentine's Day or any special occasion with your family.

Step 1

Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and beetroot powder.  In a bowl, combine egg, buttermilk, vanilla, and butter. Mix wet ingredients into the dry.

Step 2

Take a piece of foil under 1 ½ feet long.  Fold into quarters.  Make your heart shape.  Repeat until you fill the pan.

Make Heart Molds

Step 3

Melt butter in a pan and place the molds in.  Fill each with batter and spread gently.  When bubbles appear on top, remove the molds.

Begin Cooking

Step 4

Flip and cook for 2 minutes. Repeat until all the batter is used. Garnish with your favorite toppings.
