Luscious custard with a hint of orange topped with that crunchy sweet sugar! Crème Brûlée with Grand Marnier is the perfect make-ahead dessert for dinner with company or a date night-in meal.
Preheat the oven to 300°F. On the stovetop, scald the cream over low heat. The cream should be very hot but not boiling.
In a stand mixer, combine egg, egg yolks, and sugar on low speed for 1 minute. Then slowly add the hot cream. Add vanilla bean paste and Grand Marnier and mix until just combined.
Pour into ramekins. Place the ramekins in a baking dish and pour boiling water into the pan until halfway up the ramekins. Bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the ramekins and cool before refrigerating for at least 2 hours until set. Sprinkle each ramekin with sugar. Heat the sugar with a kitchen torch until melted, and caramelized.
