Sweet and smokey with hints of clove, anise and vanilla, this Brown Sugar and Bourbon Glazed Ham is super simple, uses easy-to-find ingredients, and perfect for a holiday gathering or weeknight meal!
Toast spices for about 1 to 2 minutes. Add orange juice and bourbon. Bring to just a boil and reduce the heat. Simmer until reduced by just about ½.
Remove from the heat and strain the liquid in a bowl. Add the brown sugar and whisk until combined. Set aside. Remove the ham from its packaging.
Place ham flat side down in a baking dish and fill with water. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake in a preheated oven for 15 minutes per pound.
When there are 10 minutes left to bake, increase the oven temperature, discard the foil and drain almost all the liquid. Pour glaze over the ham and return to the oven for the final 10 minutes of baking.
